Linda joined the Association in 1976 as Housing Manager. She was the first Housing Manager appointed to a community based housing association in Scotland. She has been Depute Director since 1995 and is responsible for the day to day running of the Association. Linda is also responsible for wider role activities and as such has been, and is still, involved with many of the community groups in the area such as the East End Advice Centre - which unfortunately closed after 25 years due to lack of funding – and Reidvale Adventure Play Association where she is a member of the Board of Directors and is Chair of the personnel sub-group. She is also heavily involved in all aspects of the running of the playground and in raising funds. She is Secretary of Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre’s Management Committee, who were responsible for raising £3.5m to refurbish the centre. Linda is also involved in the management of the very busy centre on a daily basis.
The Association recently developed community allotments and Linda is responsible for the ongoing management of this very successful project.
Over the years she has been involved in many committees and working parties. She has been an Executive Committee Member of SHARE for 17 years and was Chairperson for 4 years. She has also been a Share Trainer.
She was a Committee Member of Walpole Housing Association, for pregnant girls and young single mothers, and Key Housing Association, for people with learning difficulties.
