I have been a resident of RHA for 15 years. My background is in Community Development with experience over the last twenty years ranging from community engagement, community fundraising, committee member roles to hands on grass roots service delivery.
I am a trained facilitator for the Steps to Excellence course which I have delivered to adults returning to work and lone parents as well as supporting asylum seekers and refugees. I also set up a parent and toddler group, developing work clubs supporting people into further education, training and employment and have worked as a creche co-ordinator.
During a period of redundancy I had the opportunity to train as a REIKI practitioner and this has resulted in me achieving a well balanced and healthy outlook in my personal life.
I attended the Reidvale AGM in 2017 and heard that the Association were looking for new committee members, I expressed an interest and was invited along for an informal chat. I joined Reidvale Management Committee as an observer in September 2017 and was co-opted onto the Management Committee in January 2018.
I have attended various training through SHARE to gain skills in social housing and this has given me the relevant information of what is required of management committees.
I have a keen interest in my community and believe that we all share a common interest in making Reidvale community a place where people want to live.
